At school, children are naturally moving around often. Our daily schedule facilitates movement between classes, on the play equipment during break times, and on the field during sporting activities.
While parents are overwhelmed by the amount of Zoom meetings they need to get through in a day, it is very tempting to leave children in front of the TV or sitting at a desk during school activities.
Here are some easy, lock-down friendly activities to get your children moving
- Do an online exercise class together first thing in the morning
- Create an obstacle course using garden chairs, play equipment, ropes – anything you can finds lying around. Have your child complete the obstacle once a day, trying to better his or her time from the previous day
- Go for a short walk or jog with your children between 6am and 9am
